Six primary research methods are used in the Nehm lab to investigate the evolution of development in marginellid gastropods: (1) Morphological and molecular phylogenetics; (2) Morphometrics; (3) SEM and hard-tissue histology; (4) X-radiography; (5) Growth rate and development experiments using living Prunum apicinum ; and (6) Field research.
