ABOUT DRP |
An important part of science research is making the results accessible to teachers, students, and the general public. The most important goal of any curriculum is to interest, engage, and accurately inform students about science. The Dominican Republic Project at The City College, in collaboration with science teachers, science educators, and the Dominican Studies Institute, is using DRP research results to develop innovative and culturally relevant science curricula for use in local schools. These curricula include multimedia components and web-based activities. They also follow the New York State and National Science Education Standards for coursework in the Living Environment and Earth Sciences. All curricula are being field tested and evaluated for effectiveness on student academic performance. If you are interested in field-testing any of these new curriculum modules, please contact Professor Ross Nehm (Rnehm@ccny.cuny.edu). |
