| Ross Nehm, Ed.M., Ph.D. is DRP Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor at The City College, and a member of the doctoral faculty at the CUNY Graduate Center. He oversees the biology teacher certification courses in the graduate school of education. He also holds NY State teaching licenses in biology, earth science, and general science and teaches Bioinformatics at the CCNY HS for Math, Science, and Technology. At CCNY he also serves as a RISE mentor, CCAPP mentor, and STARS mentor.

Jupiter Luna is the DRP science education consultant. He is investigating funds of science knowledge in Dominican American secondary students and assisting with the development of culturally-relevant science curricula.
Jupiter has an undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell University. He
will finish his master in science education at City College this fall. He also has New York State teaching licenses in Chemistry and Biology, and has
taught for four years at the High School for Law and Public Service. |
| Moizah Arshad participated in DRP research as an undergraduate. She graduated from The City College in 2004. Her undergraduate honor's thesis focused on growth patterns in Prunum apicinum and field and lab studies of Dominican Republic paleobiodiversity. She has presented her research at the Northeast Ecology and Evolution Conference (NEEC) and has a paper in press in the Journal of Scientific Research . Moizah is currently pursuing a graduate degree in the sciences. |
| Novia Jarrett participated in DRP field and laboratory research as an undergraduate. She graduated from The City College in 2004. Her research has focused on how sampling methods influence estimates of palebiodiversity. She has presented her research at several scientific conferences, including the Northeast Ecology and Evolution Conference (NEEC) and the national meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA). She has a paper in press in the Journal of Scientific Research . Novia is currently pursuing graduate studies in science teacher education. |
| Maria Harvey is an undergraduate at The City College. Her laboratory research focuses on mollusk community change in the Gurabo Formation of the Dominican Republic . She has presented her research at the national meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA). She has also worked on the NYCmarinelife.org website project, which focuses on marine invertebrates as well. |
| Victor Matos has a bachelor's degree in geology from Colgate University . He helped collect numerous field samples central to DRP laboratory research on paleobiodiversity patterns in the Dominican Republic . Victor also spent the summer of 2003 preparing bulks from the field for analysis. |
| Jonathan Baez participated in DRP field research as an undergraduate. He graduated from The City College in 2004. Jonathan designed and wrote the multimedia ecology section of the DRP website. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree at CUNY. |
| Isamara Cabrera was selected as a student intern for 2003-2004 as part of the Mott Hall School “Student apprenticeship in science” (STARS) program directed by Mrs. Susan Herzog. Isamara worked with Ross Nehm, Novia Jarrett and Moizah Arshad on quantitative studies of mollusk biodiversity from the Dominican Republic . She was a co-author of a paper presented at the national meeting of the Geological Society of America in 2004. |

The goal of this research is to better understand developmental evolution in extinct Prunum from the Dominican Republic . Tina is presenting her research at the “Einsteins in the City” conference ( New York City , April 2005). |
